The National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA) recognized Affinity Stoneworks Designer Melissa Austin as one of 30 designers in the US for the 2015 30 Under 30 honor at the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS®), which was held Jan. 20 – 22, 2015, in Las Vegas.
The 30 Under 30 award recipients worked in ten groups of three and conducted research on design trends such as sustainability, aging in place and multi-generational, as well as business trends such as global influences, products, systems, and more.
“The 30 Under 30 program is designed to capture the voice of the next generation of kitchen and bathroom professionals,” says NKBA President-Elect Maria Stapperfenne, CKD, CBD. “The group scours the show floor for innovations, trends and new technologies, as well as sustainable business practices and emerging business models and then shares these insights with attendees.”
Melissa reflected on receiving the honor: “Being a part of the 30 Under 30 program was an unbelievably rewarding and memorable experience. It was great being able to meet other leaders in the industry, see new products first-hand, and view the upcoming trends for 2015. I’m excited to see the direction the industry is going, and I look forward to taking what I learned in Las Vegas and using that knowledge with our Affinity Stoneworks clients.”
